Five, and who each is for

The chamber publishes five membership categories with a full eligibility test for each, and no figures. Their own page carries a placeholder where a price block would go. Nothing is reproduced here because there is nothing to reproduce, and a seeded rate ladder on a chamber’s application form is the worst thing this kind of site can do.

Full Corporate Membership
Partnerships, firms, companies, corporations, representative or liaison offices or other organizations or associations with American equity participation of a minimum of 15% and which are registered in Sri Lanka and currently operating in Sri Lanka as independent entities or engaged in joint ventures. Also government representatives of the USA in Sri Lanka as designated by the U.S. Ambassador, and citizens of the United States residing in Sri Lanka.
Affiliate Membership
Organizations that have actual American business interests, such as representatives of companies in Sri Lanka or of companies or other business or commercial entities in the USA engaged in import or export of goods and services to and from the USA.
Probationary Membership
Organizations that intend to commence business operations.
Professional Membership
Certified professionals such as doctors, lawyers and accountants, and graduates from any recognized university in the USA, currently or intending to commence business relations with the USA, recommended for membership by a Full or Affiliate Member.
Individual Additional Membership
For existing member companies, allowing more than one member to apply for membership.
03 / The path

A simple path to membership

Becoming a member is a straightforward process designed to ensure alignment and long-term value for all members.

  1. Submit your application: complete the application form and provide the required documents for initial review.
  2. Application review and interview: your application will be reviewed, and you may be invited for a brief discussion with the membership committee.
  3. Approval and onboarding: once approved, you will be onboarded and gain full access to AmCham membership benefits.

An application carries:

  1. Company profile or summary of business activities
  2. Copy of incorporation documents
  3. Recent financial statements, if applicable
  4. Letter of recommendation from an existing member, or an interview if a recommendation is not available
